Homeless or at risk of losing your home

If you're at risk of homelessness

If you are at an immediate risk of homelessness within 56 days or less (or you currently have nowhere to live) contact us.

The sooner you tell us about your situation, the more likely we are to be able to assist you:

If you're experiencing an urgent housing emergency

An emergency would include if you've immediately become homeless.

You can come to any of our council offices (usually from 9am to 3:30pm on weekdays) to speak to a duty homelessness officer.

You should visit as early in the day as possible, so that we have enough time to help you.

View the times we can help you at the bottom of this page.

If you're experiencing a housing emergency after office hours

If you've been made homeless today, call 0800 999 7677 immediately, for assistance.

We may be able to help you if you have nowhere safe to go tonight, if today you've been:

  • evicted by court bailiff
  • evicted illegally
  • released from prison
  • discharged from hospital
  • a victim of a fire, flood or disaster
  • a victim of an incident of severe harassment
  • sleeping rough

If you already have an open case with our homelessness team

Contact your housing officer during office hours:

  • Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5:15pm
  • Friday, 9am to 4:45pm

If you have a more complex query
