Request a smaller or larger bin

Request a different sized bin if your current bin is too big or too small.

Smaller bins are available to all households.

You can apply for a larger general waste bin if any of the following apply:

• there are 5 or more permanent residents
• there are at least 2 children in nappies
• someone in the household has a medical condition that produces extra waste

We no longer provide 360L larger bins. 240L bins are now the largest size.

You can get a larger bin for free if you need one for medical reasons.

To apply, ask your GP or community nurse to complete the larger bin for medical reasons form PDF, 150 KB.

Upload this when you complete your request online.

You can request extra recycling bins, bags, boxes or food waste caddies.

You will need to pay a fee for each container.

The following rules apply to bin sizes:

• you will receive the same size bin you had before
• larger bins are only provided if we have a record of approval
• the largest bin size available is 240 litres (we no longer provide 360 litre bins)

If your request is approved we'll deliver your new bin within 10 working days.

We'll collect your old bin at the same time. Make sure you leave your old bin at the boundary of your property.

If your old bin wasn't collected, request a bin removal.
