Complete a Library Flex induction
Overview
Library Flex gives you access to participating libraries during extended opening hours.
We have extended opening hours at 8 of our main libraries, with staff available at the busiest times and self-service technology at other times.
With Library Flex, you can borrow, reserve or renew books and other items, collect reservations, print, use library computers and study spaces, and return items when staff are not on site.
Register for Library Flex
To use libraries during extended hours, you'll need to upgrade your membership (for free) to Library Flex by completing a short induction.
You can take your induction online or in person. If you'd prefer to complete your induction in person, visit your library and speak to a member of staff.
Online
Complete your induction online at a time that suits you. It takes about 10 minutes.
After you have completed the induction, allow up to 2 working days for us to update your library card. You will then be able to access the library during unstaffed hours.
How Library Flex works
Library Flex provides access to participating libraries beyond staffed opening hours using self-service technology.
You can borrow and return items, use library computers, print and study.
A Council Access Point (CAP) phone is available in the library during both staffed and unstaffed hours, connecting you directly to Buckinghamshire Council customer services.
Safety measures include live CCTV, emergency phones and upgraded alarm systems.
