Bridge works are currently underway, with the structure lifted at both abutments to facilitate essential bearings replacement. These activities will be carried out beneath the bridge. Planned road closure for the 11th & 12th April to enable access to the bearing works from the top side To support the works, parking bays near Higginson Park and Pound Lane Car Park will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the project. |

Traffic management for these works will be primarily carried out under two and three way lights, these will be during restricted hours (9:30 to 3:30pm) during school term time and unrestricted hours (7am to 7pm) during school half term. There will be two overnight road closures in place to facilitate the surfacing works for the raised tables. This is scheduled for 26 to 27 March, and 13 to 17 April 2026. |

The works span all network areas and will use targeted traffic management to minimise disruption while restoring essential highway signage. |
