Our fees (for highways development management)

Our fees for planning services (before you start construction):

These fees exclude VAT:

• £4,100 administration fee, when the agreement has been signed
• £125 per full hour of our Officer's time (billed retrospectively)

We monitor the amount you are charged and will put a cap on the fees if appropriate.

The overall fee will depend on the size of your development and how much input you need from our Officers.

We will charge you for our pre-application advice based on the type of development:

There is an additional fee for combined residential and commercial developments.

You should consider your entire development when entering an agreement with us. We can help you understand all of the fees that may apply. For more information, contact our Highways Development Management team.

We offer bespoke model runs. The fees will depend on the scenarios and data you require. You need to agree the scope of strategic modelling with us before you start.

You can also access our existing transport models and view the access fees.

If you need to have a microsimulation model review (including VISSIM and SATURN), you'll need to request this through us.

We charge a 20% fee, which covers our administration costs as we talk to the consultants (Atkins).

Our fees for other services:

These exclude fees for street lighting and structures. Whichever is larger of:

• £5,000
• 12% of the total cost of the value of the engineering (including statutory undertakers works, any traffic signal installations and street lighting)

This fee is reduced if your transportation and engineering works are more than £500,000, per the below:

Up to 500 metres of adopted carriageway or footway:

Our fee for a standard agreement in principle submission technical approval (in accordance with CG300) is £5,182.32, which includes:

• 2 technical design reviews
• 1 review of your design certificate
• 1 reviews of your construction completion certificate
• collation of asset management documentation
• updating asset management system

Fees for complex structures are decided on an individual basis.

Our fee is £193.

You'll need to get permission from us in advance to remove any trees on the highway.

The fee is £5,000 per tree for the replacement and maintenance.

You would need to pay a deposit of £10,000 in case we need to use it for emergency responses related to the ongoing development.

We'll return any remaining money after we've adopted your works.
