A person is disregarded for Council Tax if all of the following apply:
- they are the spouse or dependant of a student
- they are not a British citizen
- they are prevented by immigration rules from taking paid employment or from claiming benefits

You will need to provide proof that immigration regulations are preventing you from taking paid employment or claiming benefits in the UK.
