Garden waste

Subscribe to our garden waste collection service. It costs £65 a year. If it's your first time subscribing, we'll send you a bin.

We collect garden waste every 2 weeks. The service stops for 6 weeks from mid-December to late January.

You need a My Buckinghamshire account to sign up or renew.

Get help with registering or signing in.

You should receive your bin and sticker within 10 working days.

If your bin or sticker has not arrived, you can:

• request a replacement sticker
• check the status of your bin order

To receive collections, you need a valid subscription and the sticker displayed on your bin.

Use your bin for:

• grass clippings
• cuttings from trees or hedges, including leaves
• small branches (maximum diameter 10 centimetres)
• non-noxious weeds, dead plants and flowers
• fallen fruit

You cannot put the following in your bin:

• plastic carrier bags or bin liners
• compostable liners
• food waste
• paper or cardboard
• animal litter or bedding
• large branches or timber
• soil, turf, stones or rubble
• plant pots
• harmful weeds, such as Japanese knotweed
• plants treated with agricultural chemicals

If we cannot collect your items, check if you can take them to your nearest household recycling centre.

Your subscription lasts for one year from the date you sign up. Your expiry date is printed on your bin sticker.

You can renew up to 2 months before the expiry date.

You can request extra garden waste bins. Each extra subscription costs £65 per year. Extra bins expire at the same time as your main subscription.

If your bin is damaged, request a replacement bin.

If you have one that you no longer need, ask us to remove a bin.

If you move:

• within Buckinghamshire, transfer your subscription
• out of Buckinghamshire, cancel your subscription

You do not need to take your bin with you. You will not get a refund for unused time.

You should report a missed bin collection.

Before reporting, make sure your bin weighs less than 50kg. Bins over this weight will not be collected.

The service will stop between 12 December 2026 and 24 January 2027.
