Where you can park with a Blue Badge
Use our interactive map to check where Blue Badge holders can park in Buckinghamshire.
On the map:
- Select Traffic orders
- Open Legend
- Tick 'Disabled badge holders only'
You can also check details of council car parks to see which have disabled parking spaces.
Places you can park using your Blue Badge
On-street disabled parking bays
You can park for free and for as long as you need, unless signs say otherwise.
Signs for these bays show a blue wheelchair symbol.
You must display your Blue Badge. If the bay is time limited, you should also display your parking clock.
Where possible, use disabled parking bays instead of parking on yellow lines.
On-street parking meters and pay-and-display machines
You can park for free and for as long as you need.
You must display your Blue Badge.
Yellow lines
You can park on single and double yellow lines for up to 3 hours.
You cannot usually park where there are loading or unloading restrictions. These are shown by yellow kerb markings and signs.
You must display your Blue Badge.
Blue Badges are not valid for parking on double yellow lines in council-owned car parks.
Where you may not be able to park for free
Your Blue Badge does not automatically allow you to park free of charge everywhere.
Local restrictions may apply in:
- off-street car parks (such as supermarkets, hospitals or local councils)
- town centres where local schemes are in operation
- on-street parking areas where all motorists can park for free but only for a limited time
- private roads
- places reserved for specific users, such as resident bays or loading bays
- suspended meter bays or when use of the meter is not allowed
- where temporary parking restrictions are in force, such as areas shown by no-waiting cones
For full details about where you can and cannot park, see The Blue Badge scheme: rights and responsibilities in England (GOV.UK).
Parking in Wycombe
Blue Badge holders previously had to register to use certain car parks in High Wycombe. You no longer need to register your vehicle to park at:
- Easton Street
- Wycombe Swan
- Handy Cross Park & Ride
Parking outside your home
You can apply for a disabled parking space on a public road for yourself or for someone in your household if the eligibility criteria are met.
