Students across Buckinghamshire collect their GCSE results

The wait is finally over for thousands of students across the county, as GCSE exam results are released today (Thursday 20 August).

Buckinghamshire Council congratulates students on their achievements and wishes them every success for their next steps into further education or training.

Students now have a variety of pathways open to them, including A-levels, T Levels, apprenticeships, vocational qualifications, further education courses and employment with training.

The council is reminding young people and their families that support is available for those who are uncertain about their next steps. Schools, colleges, careers advisers and local support services can provide guidance to help students make informed decisions about their future.

A range of support and advice for exam results is available via the Buckinghamshire Family Information Service:

Carl Jackson, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services, said:

“Well done to all those students who have worked hard and got the results they wanted. For those students who have not done as well as they hoped, there is plenty of support and advice available, so I encourage those students to speak to their school or college in the first instance, discuss their options with friends or family, and go online to make use of the Buckinghamshire Family Information Service.”

“Thank you to all the dedicated teachers, school leaders and support staff whose hard work, encouragement and commitment has helped young people achieve their potential and reach this important milestone.

“Completing your GCSEs is a huge achievement, and we wish all Buckinghamshire students well with their next steps.”
