Higginson Park. Celebrating 100 years

A park with a story

Higginson Park is more than just a green space - it is a place shaped by community spirit and history.

Originally part of the Court Garden estate, the park became public land in 1926 following a remarkable effort by local residents who raised funds to secure it for the town. The park was originally gifted by the people of Marlow to General Sir George Higginson, who in turn gifted it back to the people of Marlow in 1926 when it become a public park, ensuring his legacy would live on through a space dedicated to public enjoyment.

Today, the park remains at the heart of Marlow life - a place where people come together to relax, celebrate and connect with nature. Buckinghamshire Council manage and care for the park as trustee of the Higginson Park Charity.
