We will be texting or emailing residents who are late paying their Council Tax. This communication is genuine but if you’d like reassurance you can log in to check your online account or pay online. There is no need to contact us if you've already paid.

How we recover unpaid Council Tax

Payments missing from your account

If you are sure that you made a payment on time, check your online account to see when your payment was received.

If your payment is not showing contact us with evidence of your payment.

Check that the payment has not gone to any older outstanding charge that you may have. Only exact instalment matches will be allocated to the current year charge where older charges are present.

Evidence can include:

  • your bank or credit card statement showing where your payment has been made
  • a receipt for the payment
  • any other valid proof you may have to show the payment, date it was made and reference it was paid to
