Library computers, printing and wifi
Overview
Most Buckinghamshire libraries offer public computers, printing services and free wifi.
Find out how to use library computers, print documents, connect to wifi and learn about computer access for children and young people.
Using library computers
If you're a library member
You can use a library computer free of charge for up to 1 hour a day. After the first hour, you'll be charged 50p for every additional 15 minutes.
To use a library computer, bring your library card with you.
Computer access ends 15 minutes before the library closes.
Some libraries offer a remote printing service, allowing you to send documents for printing from your own device. Visit the Print My Documents website to find participating libraries.
If you're not a library member
You can still use library computers, but you'll be charged 50p for every 15 minutes of use.
Computer access ends 15 minutes before the library closes.

Print from your own device
You can print from your personal device at:
- Amersham Library
- Aylesbury Library
- Beaconsfield Library

- Burnham Library
- Chesham Library
- Hazlemere Library
- High Wycombe Library
- Marlow Library

To use this service, you must:
- Be a library member.
- Upload your document using the Print My Documents website.
- Collect your printing at the library.
Documents uploaded through the Print My Documents website are available to print for 24 hours from the time they are uploaded.
You cannot upload JPEG files through this service.
To collect your printing, use a self-service kiosk and sign in with your library card number and PIN. If you need help, speak to a member of staff during staffed opening hours.
Before you visit, check your local library page to make sure printing services are available.
Using wifi at the library
Free wifi is available in all Buckinghamshire libraries.
To connect:
- Open the wifi settings on your device.
- Select COUNCIL GUEST.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Buckinghamshire Council cannot guarantee that the wifi service will always be available and is not responsible for any loss resulting from service interruptions.
Some community libraries provide wifi independently from the council. If you're using one of these libraries, follow the instructions provided on site.
Computer access for children and young people
Children and young people can use library computers. Access arrangements vary depending on age.
Children aged 0 to 4
Children cannot use their library membership to access public computers.
Parents or guardians can ask for this restriction to be removed when the child turns 5.
Children aged 5 to 12
Children can use library computers.
If you want to restrict your child's access to public computers, email [email protected] or speak to a member of staff at your library.
Young people aged 13 to 15
Young people can use public computers without parental consent.
This follows guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office and aligns with our library membership policy, which allows young people aged 13 and over to join the library independently.
