Apply for the Warm Homes Local Grant

We've secured funding through the Warm Homes Local Grant from the Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

Who is involved

We're working with the National Energy Foundation.

What the grant is for

Eligible residents can apply for energy-saving upgrades. This could help to reduce your carbon footprint and spend less on your energy bills.

If you're eligible, the grant could fully fund:

  • insulation upgrades like wall or loft insulation (to help keep you warm in winter)
  • a low carbon heating system (for example an air source heat pump, which could mean upgrading or replacing the existing heating system)
  • solar photovoltaic (PV) systems (which generate electricity)
  • smart heating controls (which make sure you only use heat when you need it)

A survey will be conducted to identify what is suitable for your home.

This grant is different to the low-cost easy retrofit resource efficiency (LCERRE) measures being offered.

Check if you're eligible

You must be a homeowner or private tenant and have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F or G. If you do not know your home’s EPC, you can check it when you apply.

You must also meet one of the following income criteria:

  • you live in a household with a combined annual income of less than £36,000 (inclusive of tax)
  • a member of the household receives specific income-related means-tested benefits (for example Universal Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance)
  • you live in a pre-qualified postcode area

Landlords may be required to contribute towards the cost of the improvements. This will be agreed before work begins.
