Driver licences are usually granted for 3 years but may be granted for a shorter duration in some circumstances.
Applicants are required to pay suppliers directly for required tests and documents (unless otherwise stated).

Vehicle licence fees
Vehicle licences last for 1 year. The vehicle must pass a mechanical inspection before we can issue the licence.
Applicants are required to pay suppliers directly for required tests, including vehicle inspections.
Fees for vehicle testing are not included.

Operator licence fees
If you run a private hire firm, you need an operator licence.
Operator licences are usually granted for 5 years. In exceptional circumstances we may grant a 1 year operator licence. This is at our own discretion, but will not normally be the case.

Increasing the number of vehicles during a licence
If you increase the number of vehicles in your firm or fleet (during the course of your licence) you will need to pay some fees. The fees are the difference between the 2 fee brackets, for the remainder of the existing licence period, and a standard fee.
