Wycombe Pick Me Up, Carousel buses

The Wycombe Pick Me Up service will be withdrawn from 2 November 2026. The service was operated as a pilot with initial funding from the Department for Transport. This grant has now come to an end.

During the operation of Pick Me Up there had been improvements to local buses in the High Wycombe area. More buses are running, provided by Carousel Buses and other smaller operators (with investment from Buckinghamshire Council), improving service coverage, reliability, and frequency.

From 18 October 2026 there will be the following service changes to provide some replacement for areas no longer provided for by Pick Me Up:

  • Route 34 and 34A Olympic Way and Hick Farm Rise to the town centre, Hospital, Coachway and Cressex: extended service to replace Route 27 and provide more buses from Hatters Lane, Robinson Road, Magpie Wood and Bowerdean Road. This will be increased to run every 30 minutes all day, with these buses alternating to finish at either Olympic Way or Magpie Wood every hour
  • Route 35 Abbey Barn Park to town centre – new service every hour from Abbey Barn South to the town centre
  • Route 38 Deeds Grove to Hospital and town centre – improvements to the timetable to provide an hourly service
  • Route 29 Downley to town centre - This will be extended to cover Coates Lane on its way to Downley and to Walton Drive to cover parts of the former route 27 which are not being included with route 34
