Buckinghamshire Council to hold Remembrance Sunday Service in Aylesbury town centre
Buckinghamshire Council’s Remembrance Sunday service will take place in Market Square, Aylesbury, on 8 November 2026 at 10:45am.
While the official county service is held in Aylesbury, communities across Buckinghamshire will also be marking the occasion through local services and acts of remembrance.
Hosting the service will be Buckinghamshire Council Chairman, Councillor John Chilver. Speaking ahead of the event, he said: "It is a privilege to join Buckinghamshire residents in marking Remembrance Sunday. As we observe the two-minute silence, we remember all those, and their families, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and we honour the dedication of those who continue to serve. Their courage, selflessness and commitment remain an inspiration to us all."
Also attending the service to lay wreaths will be local civic, civil and military dignitaries, as well as many other organisations.
The ceremony will commence with a lone bagpiper playing a lament and includes the playing of the Last Post, a two-minute silence to honour the fallen and the Reveille.
Residents and visitors are warmly invited to attend this remembrance event.
Alongside the county service in Aylesbury, remembrance events and parades will take place across Buckinghamshire, including:
- Remembrance Parade & Service - Buckingham
- Remembrance Parade & Service - Marlow
- Remembrance Parade & Service - High Wycombe
Residents are encouraged to check local arrangements in their area for details of other commemorations taking place within their communities.
