Hire a mobility scooter for Aylesbury town centre
Hire a wheelchair, scooter or walker free of charge through Shopmobility to help you get around Aylesbury town centre.
Anyone with a mobility difficulty can use the scheme. You don’t have to be disabled or a blue badge holder to hire equipment.
Where to find us
Equipment for loan
- Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm
- Sunday and Bank Holidays - closed
We are open on alternative Saturdays 9am to 1pm
How to use the service
You must become a member of the Shopmobility scheme.
To join you need to provide:
- your personal details
- proof of identity
- a photo, we can take, if you need help
We can then train you on how to use the equipment.
We recommend you book in advance to avoid disappointment and ensure a parking space.
Wheelchairs and scooters loaned on short term hire must be returned by 3.30 pm on the day of hire.
Long term hire charges
For a charge and deposit, we will loan our equipment for use outside the town centre.
Wheelchair or walker
There is no maximum length of time for long term loans when paid for in advance.
You can take the equipment abroad but it is your responsibility to make sure that no damage occurs. We highly recommend that you take out your own insurance as we will bill you for any damage.
Other Shopmobility Schemes
Unfortunately at the moment all the schemes are run independently from each other, although the National Federation of Shopmobility is researching the possibility of a national passport scheme.
Although we are unable to advise professionally on mobility issues or mobility and daily living aids, we are always happy to try to answer questions or put you in contact with someone who can help.
