Set up a food collection point on your street (Food Champions)

Collecting food from your neighbours and bringing it to a food bank will make a huge difference to the lives of people who are struggling financially.

If you're interested in becoming a Food Champion and collecting food donations for the community, local food banks can help you set up a food collection point on your street.

There are 2 schemes available in Buckinghamshire:

  • Food Champions
  • Street Heroes (One Can Trust)

As a Food Champion or Street Hero you will be responsible for:

  • coordinating the monthly collection of food from your neighbours
  • taking the collected food to your local food bank
  • raising awareness to increase donations where possible

Setting up a food collection point

Some food banks are already part of the Food Champion scheme.

Contact your nearest participating food bank to set up a food collection point on your street:

Aylesbury Vineyard Church (Food Champions)

Burnham Care & Share (Food Champions)

Chiltern Foodbank (Food Champions)

Wycombe One Can Trust (Street Heroes)

If your area is not covered by an existing Food Champion scheme, you can set up a scheme for your community by emailing [email protected]
