Introduction

Domestic abuse is controlling or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between people:

  • aged 16 or over 
  • who are, or have been, partners or family members

Domestic abuse can take many forms, including:

  • psychological
  • physical
  • sexual
  • financial
  • emotional

Thames Valley Police has advice on what to do if you are a victim of domestic abuse.
