Register a birth

You can ask for a birth registration to be corrected if information on the register is wrong, for example if there is a mistake in a parent's or child's details.

You cannot correct a birth registration if the information has changed since the birth was registered, for example if you change your name after marriage.

We cannot change a birth certificate that has already been issued.

If we approve the correction, we will add a note to the birth register showing what has been corrected.
