Request a collection of bagged clinical waste
We collect infectious or potentially infectious clinical waste on a weekly basis, if it isn't contaminated with chemicals or medicines.
How to request
- Download a bagged clinical waste duty of care form PDF, 169 KB.
- Get a medical professional (GP or district nurse) to sign it and confirm the type of waste to be collected.
- Upload the form and provide information about your healthcare provider online.
Do not put needles and syringes in with your clinical waste. You can book a separate collection of sharps boxes online.
About your collection
After you make your request, we'll send you 4 orange sacks within 10 working days.
Secure any waste that poses an infection risk in your orange sacks, for example:
- wipes
- dressings, plasters or bandages
- bed pans or liners
- stoma bags or urine containers
- personal protective equipment, such as gloves, masks and aprons
Our crews will replace these sacks each time they make a collection. For example, if they take 2 sacks they will give you 2 more sacks.
What you can get rid of with your regular waste collections
You do not need a clinical waste collection if you're disposing of items like:
- nappies
- incontinence pads
- sanitary products
- non-infectious catheter and stoma bags (drained)
These can be put out with your usual general waste.
If the amount of hygiene waste is too much for your bin, you can request a larger general waste bin.
Amend or cancel your collection
You can change or cancel your booking online.

If your waste is not collected
