Book a bulky item collection
You can book a paid collection for large household items that can’t go out with your normal bin collection, for example, sofas, fridges or washing machines.
On the collection day, make sure you put your selected items out by 6am and leave them where your bins are normally collected.
You must provide full access details for your property, such as gate codes, as a different collection crew handles bulky waste items.
What it costs
- 1 to 3 items: £62
- 4 to 6 items: £124
- 7 to 9 items: £186
We do not offer discounts or exemptions.
What we collect
- Large appliances: fridges, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens
- Electrical items: TVs, computers, monitors, audio units, microwaves, vacuum cleaners
- Furniture: wardrobes, dressers, tables, chairs, beds, mattresses, sofas, armchairs, cots, and similar items
- Garden items: barbecues, lawnmowers, dismantled swings, children’s plastic toys
We do not collect
- Ceramic or plastic bathroom suites or shower cubicles
- Boilers, water tanks or storage heaters
- Kitchen units, doors, windows, carpet, linoleum or laminate flooring, plasterboard, rubble, ceramic tiles, sheds or fence panels or asbestos
- Garden waste
- Plate glass
- Car tyres
- Pianos
If you need help moving your items
Consider asking a friend, relative or neighbour to help you leave your items in the place you specify in your booking.
We cannot enter your premises to collect items.
Cancelling or changing your booking
Contact us to cancel your bulky item collection.
To change items or the collection date, you will need to cancel and rebook.
For a full refund, you must contact us at least 2 working days before your collection. Read our bulky waste terms and conditions.
If your items are not collected
Our teams have until 6pm to collect your items. If we miss you, wait until the following day and then report a missed bulky item collection.
What happens to your waste
Items are broken down for recycling or sent to the Greatmoor Energy from Waste plant. Suitable items may go to reuse shops at Aston Clinton or High Wycombe recycling centres.
Other ways to get rid of large items
You could consider:
- selling on Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace
- donating to charities that collect (British Heart Foundation or Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse)
- giving them away for free (Freegle or LoveJunk)
- taking the items to a household recycling centre
