Find out about Buckinghamshire Archives move to High Wycombe

Buckinghamshire Archives is moving from Aylesbury to High Wycombe. The new site will provide significantly better facilities for the archives, customers and staff.

When Buckinghamshire Archives is closing and reopening

We have not confirmed the exact closing date yet.

Buckinghamshire Archives will close to onsite public access this autumn for 6 months. This is so the team can carry out the complex preparations needed to move the archive.

The service will then reopen in High Wycombe at the new Denmark Street site in Spring 2027. During the move we will suspend taking in new records. You can still deposit items with us until 1 September 2026.

Contact us to make an appointment as we are unable to accept records without prior arrangement.

We will continue to receive records where we have a statutory duty to do so. We'll update this page further as soon as the dates are confirmed.

Services available during the closed period
