Introduction and key dates
For Buckinghamshire residents - apply online for starting school in reception or moving from infant to junior school for September entry.
There is a separate application if you want to change school and apply during this academic year.
If you do not live in Buckinghamshire
You must apply through your home council even if you are moving to Buckinghamshire or want your child to attend a Buckinghamshire school.
If your child has an educational, health and care plan (EHC)
Primary school admission dates
You can start to apply for a child's primary school place between 1 November 2023 and 15 January 2024.
- go to some open days of schools you're interested in
- prepare a list of schools you'd like to apply for
- consider how your child will get to school each day
Once you've submitted your list of schools, you'll then need to provide evidence of your address.
