You will be disregarded for Council Tax purposes if you are a member of a religious community where the principal occupation is:

• prayer
• contemplation
• education
• the relief of suffering

To qualify, you must:

• have no income or capital of your own (disregarding any income from a pension from any previous employment)
• be dependent on the community to provide your material needs

You will need to provide evidence of your:

• membership of the religious community
• income and dependency on the community for your needs
