FoodCycle’s vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community by:

  • connecting communities
  • reducing loneliness and food poverty
  • working with thousands of volunteers and surplus food organisations

How can they help

FoodCycle supports people's health and mental wellbeing by:

  • creating welcoming spaces where people from all walks of life can meet, eat and have conversations
  • offering a weekly telephone 'check-in and chat'

By cooking with surplus ingredients, they also promote healthy, sustainable attitudes towards food and its impact on the environment and help people learn more about healthy food.

FoodCycle aim to inspire greater change by sharing the impact of their community dining spaces and the voices of their guests. This encourages more people to join and support FoodCycle, so they can help more people and more communities.

Enhance health and mental wellbeing by creating welcoming spaces where people from all backgrounds and walks of life can have conversations together.

Nourish the hungry

Improve nutrition and reduce hunger by cooking healthy meals for those in need, leading to improved food knowledge and changes in behaviour.

Promote sustainability

Change attitudes to food and society’s impact on the environment by cooking with surplus ingredients.

Inspire change

Share the virtues of their community dining model and the voices of guests to gain greater support and speed their expansion, enabling them to help more people and more communities.

Residents with a passion to reduce food waste are invited to attend and/or donate surplus fruit and vegetables to the meal.
