Offer to share your home with a refugee

Introduction

The government's Homes for Ukraine scheme was launched on Monday 14 March and is aimed at helping to offer Ukrainian refugees accommodation in the United Kingdom.

By offering to "sponsor" a refugee, you will be offering accommodation to an individual or household from Ukraine.

Sponsors should provide accommodation for as long as they are able, but we have a minimum expectation of 6 months.

People arriving under this scheme will be able to:

  • Live and work in the UK for up to three years
  • Access healthcare, benefits, employment support, education, and English language tuition

If you have Ukrainian family members

The Homes for Ukraine scheme is separate to the UK Family Scheme. If you wish to provide accommodation for your Ukrainian family member, you should apply for a UK Family Scheme visa.
