Could you support the Library Transformation Fund and help us promote this valuable community hub for Wendover? We are seeking your donations to help us to do this!
A library transformation
In March 2025, we successfully completed the renovations of the Wendover Community Library building. It's now a community hub providing local information and services for Wendover and its surrounding areas. While books and reading remain a core focus, the hub will also provide a variety of social, cultural, and educational activities, with an emphasis on health and wellbeing.

A community hub for all
Plans for the new library have been informed by feedback and suggestions shared by residents, staff and volunteers through 21 engagement sessions and surveys.
The exterior and interior has been re-designed, including improved outdoor spaces, a much larger children’s library, and new flexible meeting spaces. Find out more about the planned transformation.
We secured £493,500 funding from Buckinghamshire Council Capital programme, the Arts Council Library Improvement Fund, and smaller grants from Wendover Parish Council and Wendover Community Library Trust (WCLT) to carry out the main work. More than £4,000 came from the efforts of local people donating through the Wendover Transformation Fund.
You can still contribute to the transformation fund to support ongoing improvements.
View the funding and amounts:
- ACE, £310,000
- Buckinghamshire Council Capital contribution, £120,000
- Buckinghamshire Culture Services, £10,000
- Library Service Revenue Contribution £25,000
- grants from trusts (via WCLT), £15,000
- Bucks Masonic Trust (via WCLT), £1,500
- other public funding (Wendover Parish Council), £8,000
- community fundraising, £4,000
We are keen to continue fundraising to include additional improvement suggested by local people, such as external landscaping, and so we will now be working to submit bids for additional funding from a range of organisations.
The Library Transformation Fund will enable those who are willing and able to contribute, to consider donating to support the local library.

Leave a legacy
If you’d like to make a larger donation, we have two options for a permanent plaque. This can be used to recognise your contribution, honour a loved one who has passed or a mark a special event.
Legacy leaves
We have a limited number of beautiful metal leaves inspired by maple trees, native to Wendover. These are available in three materials to show your support. With space for an individual, family or business name, these will be displayed outside the library entrance forming a striking piece of art.
The aluminium leaf is a minimum donation of £70, the stainless steel is £150 and the brass leaf, which is perfect for businesses and community groups, is £1,000.

Use our online form to order your legacy leaf.
