Sponsorship opportunities

We welcome setting up partnerships with businesses and organisations to support community events and projects.

The Sponsorship Policy sets out how we manage sponsorship opportunities in a transparent, ethical, and consistent way. Creating mutually beneficial sponsorship agreements that provide value for both the council and our partners.

The Policy will enable a consistent and professional approach when considering opportunities for sponsorship of council properties, events, services and other activities.

Our principles are to:

• align sponsorship with council values and strategic priorities
• protect the council’s reputation and ensure compliance with legislation
• maintain transparency, accountability, and best value
• avoid conflicts of interest and inappropriate partnerships

Our policy explains:

• what sponsorship is (and how it differs from donations, grants, and advertising)
• approval processes and risk management requirements
• restrictions on sponsorship from organisations linked to illegal activity, political groups, tobacco, gambling, adult entertainment, or any that conflict with Council values
• guidelines for recognition, branding, and communications

All sponsorship agreements must be in writing, follow procurement rules, and be recorded in the council’s Sponsorship Register.

Acceptance of sponsorship does not imply endorsement of a sponsor’s products or services.

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking sponsors for the Buckinghamshire School Awards 2027, an annual celebration of the outstanding contribution made by teachers, school leaders, support staff, governors and volunteers across Buckinghamshire's schools.

Since launching in 2023, the awards have become a valued opportunity to recognise and celebrate the individuals and teams who make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people across the county.

The awards attract nominations from schools across Buckinghamshire and culminate in a high-profile awards ceremony attended by education professionals, school leaders, governors, sponsors and invited guests.

Previous sponsors have included organisations from the education, business and charitable sectors with strong links to Buckinghamshire and its communities.

Sponsorship Opportunities Available

Sponsors can support an individual award category for £1,500 + VAT.

Sponsorship benefits include:

• Named sponsorship of an award category
• Opportunity to present the award to the winner at the awards ceremony
• Logo placement on relevant event and promotional materials
• Recognition through Buckinghamshire Council communications and social media channels
• Inclusion in post-event publicity and press coverage

Award Categories

There are 12 award categories recognising the wide range of individuals and teams who contribute to Buckinghamshire schools, including awards for teachers, support staff, school leaders, governors, volunteers and innovative practice.
