Before you visit
You can use this recycling centre for free if you live in Buckinghamshire.
Before you visit, make sure you:
- bring proof of your address, such as a driving licence or Council Tax bill
- check if your vehicle needs a permit
- check the rules for DIY waste
- check if charges apply
You do not need to book an appointment.
If you do not live in Buckinghamshire, you will need to pay to use the site.
DIY waste
DIY waste includes materials from home improvement work, such as rubble, soil, plasterboard and tiles.
You cannot dispose of unlimited DIY waste for free.
To use this service, you must:
- apply for a DIY waste permit before you visit
- stay within your weekly free allowance
If you bring more than your allowance, you will need to pay to dispose of it.
If your permit has run out, you must apply for a new one before bringing more waste.

What you can take
You can take many household items to this recycling centre for free. This includes:
- aerosols
- batteries
- books (for reuse)
- car batteries (up to 2 per year)
- carpet
- coffee pods (plastic and aluminium)
- clothing and textiles
- cooking oil
- DIY waste (limits apply)
- fluorescent tubes - up to 4 fluorescent tubes per year
- furniture - including broken up or dismantled furniture
- fridges, cookers or other large electrical appliances
- garden waste
- gas bottles
- general waste
- mattresses
- paint - if hardened (paint can be hardened by adding paint hardener, sand, sawdust or soil)
- paper and cardboard
- small electrical appliances for example a toaster or printer
- televisions and monitors
- waste engine oil – up to 10 litres per year
- vapes

Items we do not accept
We do not accept the following items:
- dead animals, carcasses and faeces
- large quantities of animal bedding (allow 1 to 2 bags per week from small domestic pets, must be double bagged).
- materials presenting a direct contact risk
- tree trunks and branches thicker than 20cm and or longer than 2m
- flammables and explosives, such as fireworks or ammunition
- storage heaters containing asbestos (pre 1980 or models with SR the end of the model number)
This site does not accept asbestos waste or business or charity waste. The nearest site that does is Aylesbury recycling centre.
Vehicle rules
Some vehicles are not allowed on site.
You cannot bring:
- vehicles with more than 4 wheels
- vehicles over 7.5 tonnes
- trailers larger than 2.4m long x 1.8m wide, up to 60cm high with a cover and excluding tow bar
- vehicles with tippers or tail lifts
- tractors or horseboxes
If your vehicle does not meet these rules, staff will turn you away.
If you visit in a van, truck or minibus, you must have a vehicle waste permit.
Visiting on foot
You must have a walk-in permit to access the site on foot.
Busy periods
The site is usually busiest at weekends, especially on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
It is usually quieter on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

You can use this site for free if you live in Buckinghamshire and bring proof of address.

Compost for sale
You can buy peat-free compost at the site.
A 40 litre bag costs £5.50, or 3 bags cost £15.50. You must pay by card.
Waste left outside the gates
Leaving waste outside the gates is fly-tipping, and you could be prosecuted.
We use CCTV and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras to investigate offences and monitor site use.
