Review of polling stations, places and districts

A review of the polling districts, polling places and polling stations was carried out by the council in 2023. This review looked at the places where you go to cast your vote. The public consultation was open from Monday 2 October 2023 to Monday 4 December 2023. The consultation has now closed.

The Standards and General Purposes Committee, responsible for electoral arrangements, considered the responses to the public consultation and agreed the polling districts, polling places and polling station for forthcoming polls at a meeting held on 18 January 2024. About polling stations, places and districts

Find the definitions below:

  • a polling station is the specific room or building in the polling place where voting happens
  • a polling place is the building or area in which a vote will happen
  • a polling district is the geographical area created by dividing up a parliamentary constituency
