Appeals for school places for September entry which were received before the deadline dates will be heard between early May and late July. Appeals received after the deadline dates are unlikely to be heard until September onwards.

If you wish to withdraw your appeal, you need to let the Education Appeals Team know as soon as possible.

If your appeal was not successful, you do not have the right to a second appeal for the same school for the same academic year.
You should try to submit all of your evidence in support of your appeal with your appeal form. You can find more information in the Parent's guide.
If you have missed any evidence or need to send more, submit it via the portal.
The Education Appeals Team need to have all evidence by the evidence deadline date.
The Appeals Team will tell you the evidence deadline date when they email you with the date and time of your appeal hearing.
If evidence or information is received late, it is unlikely for it to be considered by the appeal panel. The appeal panel cannot consider evidence received after your appeal hearing.

Before your appeal hearing
At least 10 school days before the appeal hearing, the Education Appeals Team will email you a letter telling you when your appeal will take place.
It is not possible to offer a choice of appointments.
The appeal will be heard remotely by video conference. The Clerk to the Appeal Panel will email you an invitation a few days beforehand.
If you don’t receive an invitation, check your junk folder. Check you included the correct email address in your appeal form.
Date of your appeal

Appeal decision
A decision letter will be sent to you no later than 5 school days after your appeal hearing. If appeals have been made by a number of parents for a particular school (which may take place over a number of days/weeks), decision letters will be sent no later than 5 school days after the last appeal.
