Having a say

Making sure your comments are considered

You can make sure your comments are considered by explaining how they’re in the public interest - for example, if a development will create issues such as:

  • unsuitable design, layout and look
  • impact on the surrounding area
  • loss of light or privacy
  • parking or traffic issues
  • noise pollution
  • impact on trees, conservation areas or listed buildings

If you comment on a planning application, you might be able to speak at the Planning Committee when it’s considered. Read the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) to find out how the council consults on planning decisions.

Your comments will be published publicly on Public Access, with your name and address. Read our privacy statement to find out more about commenting on planning applications.
