Types of ceremony
Citizenship ceremonies are usually done in groups. You can also ask for a private ceremony if you have specific reasons for needing one.
Group ceremonies
Group ceremonies include up to 25 other people at a time and are arranged by the citizenship team on your behalf.
A registrar will conduct the group ceremony which will last around 45 minutes to an hour and will take place in one of our offices in Buckinghamshire.
Private ceremonies
You can ask for a private ceremony if you:
- would like more than 2 guests to attend your ceremony
- need a ceremony at short notice
- would like a different day, time or location to the one scheduled for you
Private ceremonies can take place in either our Aylesbury or Beaconsfield offices. There are additional fees for private ceremonies.
