Privacy and payment for self-isolating (Test and Trace Support Payment)

This privacy notice explains how the Revenues and Benefits team at Buckinghamshire Council (the data controller) will use the personal information we collect about you when you use this service.

We can hold the following information:

• your name, National Insurance number, date of birth, gender
• your partners National Insurance number, date of birth, gender
• dependants names, dates of birth, gender
• financial circumstances, including details of income and savings
• details of any benefit incomes
• contact details, telephone number and email address
• your bank details
• your employer’s details, name and address
• NHS Test and Trace Account ID

We need your information to ensure the accurate calculation of financial assistance in respect of Test and Trace Support payments, and Discretionary Test and Trace Support Payments.

The legal basis for processing the data under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 is Article 6(1)(e). We need it to perform a public task.

We use your information because we need it to provide you with a service as a local authority in relation to Public Health:

• Public Health, England, The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (Self isolation) (England Regulations 2020)
• as instructed by Department of Health and Social Care (mandatory instructions and guidance provided to Local Authorities)

We will share your information, if appropriate, with:

• NHS Test and Trace Data Systems
• department for Health and Social Care
• HM Revenues and Customs
• a nominated third party or personal representative, following authority from you to do so
• any of the parties listed on receipt of a copy of a Financial Power of Attorney
• other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds and in relation to safeguarding purposes or in connection with the prevention of crime, criminal or legal investigations or proceedings including fraud (and the National Fraud Initiative) or regulatory functions
• law enforcement agencies, such as the police
• regulatory bodies, investigators and ombudsman for example Local Government Ombudsman
• courts and tribunals
• legal representatives
• other relevant services within the council

We will securely hold your information and only keep it for as long as is necessary. As a financial assessment, data will be maintained for a maximum period of 6 years plus the current year. At the end of this period your records will be confidentially disposed of.

We will not disclose your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We do not carry out any automated decision making in relation to this information.
