Privacy and Connect to Work Programme
This is a work programme in England and Wales to help disabled people, those with health conditions and people with complex barriers to employment, to find sustainable work.
This Privacy Notice explains how the Connect to Work service at Buckinghamshire Council (the data controller) will use the personal information we collect about you when you use this service.
Information held about you
We can hold the following information:
- your name
- your contact details, including phone number and email address
- contact we have had with you (such as correspondence)
- your date of birth
- marital status
- National Insurance number
- programme eligibility details
- health information and/or disabilities
If you make an application for Connect to Work, we may hold the following additional information:
- benefits you currently receive
Why we need your information
We need your information to:
- to ensure eligibility to the programme with DWP
- to ensure our database is accurate for sharing participant progress on the programme with DWP
What is the lawful basis for us to process your information?
The lawful basis for processing the personal information under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR is:
- Article 6(1)(a) Your consent. You can remove or withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by email to [email protected]
- Article 6(1)(b) We have a contractual obligation
If we need to use your special category information or information about criminal convictions, we can use it for:
- Article 9(a) Explicit consent. You can remove or withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by email to [email protected]
- Article 9(i) Public health (with a basis in law)
- Article 9(j) Archiving, research and statistics (with a basis in law)
How we share and process your information
We will share your information, if appropriate, with:
- third parties (data processors) contracted by Buckinghamshire Council to work on behalf of the Council to support the Connect to Work service - such third parties include:
- DWP funders of the programme
- other bodies in connection with the prevention of crime, criminal or legal investigations or proceedings including fraud (and the National Fraud Initiative) or regulatory functions (such as the Local Government Ombudsman)
- other relevant services within the council
We will securely hold your information and only keep it for up to 7 years. Where information is no longer needed it will be confidentially disposed of.
The Council does transfer personal data that is processed for the purposes of this Privacy Notice to countries outside of the territorial scope of UK data protection laws, including:
- EEA countries
Automated decision making
We do not carry out any automated decision making in relation to this information.
Your rights
You have legal rights over your information. For details of those rights, see our corporate Privacy Policy. Your rights will differ depending on our lawful basis for processing your personal information.
