Representatives and consent

Someone may represent you to make a complaint. A representative could be a friend, family member, or a professional such as an advocate or solicitor. If someone complains for you, we will check that you have agreed to this or that they have a legal right to act for you.

Representatives must act in your best interests. If we believe a representative is not suitable or you do not give your consent, we will not look at the complaint and explain this decision in writing.
