How it works

You can join in Year 10 or Year 12.

Aylesbury UTC brings together major local and national employers such as Cisco, Buckinghamshire NHS Trust, Morgan Sindall and Home Instead in partnership. This ensures students gain the right skills and motivation and are given a genuine work-related learning experience which will improve their work readiness.

Their aim is to invest in young people’s enthusiasm for a career pathway in the specialism subject they study and in doing so accelerate their progression to a career.

Year 10 and 11

Alongside a core subject GCSE curriculum (5 or 6 GCSEs) at Year 10 and 11, you'll undertake 3 specialist qualifications (GCSE equivalent) in your chosen specialist area.

Year 12 and 13

At Year 12 and 13 you'll undertake specialist qualifications, which are A-level equivalent, and have the opportunity to complete a range of specialist work placements in many different companies.

You'll also complete a course of study which will open up all of the routes you might wish to consider:

  • T-Level health is the core and relates to a future in the 14 Allied Health Professions
  • Computing BTEC Level 3 is in creative Digital Media, Computer Science and Information Technology

Entry requirements for sixth form

The entry requirements you will need to achieve are 5 GCSEs at Grade 4+ (or the equivalent vocational qualifications).
