Find out if a planning enforcement notice was complied with
An enforcement notice is a notice served against work that has been done without permission.
It can either decide that:
- the unauthorised development needs to be demolished
- the use of the building to cease (for circumstances where a change of use application would be needed)
For a fee, we can check our records to see whether someone has complied with an enforcement notice and let you know the outcome.
Confirmation of compliance
If you have complied with the requirements of any formal action taken by the Council, you can apply to receive formal confirmation.
Fee
The fee for this service is £309. You can pay this fee using the Planning Payment Form.
Application for confirmation of compliance
To request this service, you will need to pay the fee and then email confirmation of the payment to the Planning Enforcement Team at [email protected].
Include 'Enforcement notice compliance service' in the subject line.
After you've made your request we will either:
- confirm that the notice has been complied with and supply a formal letter, or
- explain why the notice has not been complied with and the subsequent consequences
