Local residents, and Parish and Town Councils, play a key role in letting our planning case officers know about any particular local issues and constraints.

The purpose of public consultation and notification is so that we know about all the relevant issues.

Planning decisions are based on:

• current legislation
• national planning policy
• development plan policy
• all material considerations identified

They are not made based on the number of comments received on a planning application.
