Bedgrove Park active travel project in Aylesbury
The project aims to build and improve paths to create an active travel network through Bedgrove Park.
The changes we're proposing
We're proposing new and improved paths for walking, cycling and wheeling between the Hampden Fields development and Camborne Avenue, which will form part of the Buckinghamshire Greenway.
This would create new local links and improve access to:
- local facilities including:
- green open space
- sports facilities
- BMX pump track
- local schools
- the Hampden Fields development
- Amber Way Gemstone route (towards the town centre, via Turnfurlong)
The new paths will be 3 metres wide, surfaced and supported by features including signs and resting points.
The project will utilise and upgrade a crossing point recently installed on Cambourne Avenue. We're also considering future improvements to Amber Way.
How the project is being funded
The project has been funded by Housing Infrastructure Funding (HIF). This funding has been ring-fenced for improvements to active travel infrastructure from Homes England through the Aylesbury Garden Town Housing Infrastructure Fund programme.
