We will email you when your licence items are ready to be collected.

Where to collect your licence

When you collect your items, bring the email with you. You can show us the email:

  • on your phone or device
  • as a printed copy

We'll also need ID documents and other evidence if you're collecting a vehicle or driver licence.

What documents you need to bring

If you are collecting a driver licence

Only the licence holder can collect a driver licence.

You will need to bring all of these original documents:

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • Proof of Right to Work Documents (for example a passport)
  • DVLA Driving Licence
  • English language certificate
  • a passport-sized photograph (unless you have uploaded a digital photograph)
  • certificate of good conduct (if you uploaded a copy as part of your application)

If you do not bring the original documents, we cannot give you the licence.

If you are collecting a vehicle licence

A nominated person can collect your vehicle licence on your behalf.

You (or they) will need to bring your photo ID.

View the status of your application online, under the 'My History' menu of the relevant application form.

If you are renewing a licence

You will also need to bring the old plate and window card.

If you are surrendering a licence due to accident or enforcement

You will need to bring any supporting documents relating to the reasons for the surrender.
