Roadworks in half-term impacting travel into Aylesbury
Over half-term (24 October to 31 October), roadworks will likely impact you if you're travelling into or out of Aylesbury.
We schedule additional roadworks in half-term because the roads are quieter, so it impacts fewer road users.
Check before you travel
You should check One Network before you travel to plan your route.
You can also use a satnav to see live travel times which can help to avoid disruption, even for familiar journeys.
Roadworks impacting travel to (and from) Aylesbury
View the dropdowns below showing nearby towns, villages and bus routes that will be impacted.
From 27 October to 31 October between 7am and 7pm, multi-way signals will be in use on London Road, Aston Clinton (Tompkins Close to Dennis Close).
This is to support AtkinsRéalis to carry out remedial traffic calming works.

The opening of the new A4010 (Stoke Mandeville Relief Road and SEALR Phase 2) will mean changes to bus services operating between High Wycombe and Aylesbury.
The current services run a combined frequency of every 15 minutes from Aylesbury to Princes Risborough and High Wycombe (each service runs half-hourly). These services currently run through Stoke Mandeville using Risborough Road, A4010 (which will be permanently closed from 19 November).
Updated bus services
From November, Redline will divert service 130 via the new A4010 which will then go directly to Terrick (the pink route in the image below).
Service 300 will use Lower Road, Station Road, Wendover Road, Wendover bypass and Nash Lee Road to meet the current route at Terrick (the blue route).
Each service will continue to run every 30 minutes. This means Stoke Mandeville will have a service every 30 minutes throughout most of the day.
This will mean there will be a reduction in service for Stoke Mandeville. We believe these changes serve the village and the passengers who are not travelling to or from Stoke Mandeville, which is 85% to 90% of passengers.
Evening and Sunday services will continue to be shared between the two routes and a new 2300 journey from Aylesbury has been introduced to serve Stoke Mandeville (except Sundays).

Book transport around Aylesbury and nearby villages (Village Connect)
You can also use the Village Connect Demand Responsive Transport service to get to Stoke Mandeville.
After you've signed up, you can pre-book transport around Aylesbury with fares that are similar to local bus services.
This may be useful for residents on Risborough Road (for example in Roylands) who will now have a longer walk to the nearest bus stop on route 300.
Lower Road (road closure)
From 7pm on 24 October to 6am on 31 October, we'll implement a 24-hour road closure on Lower Road (B4443) at the Lower Road roundabout.
This is for footway and street lighting works on SEALR Phase 2.
Pedestrian access and access for ambulances on call will be maintained, due to the proximity to Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

We recognise that works on Wendover Road (A413) and adjacent roads will impact travel times for road users following the official Lower Road diversion.
Risborough Road (A4010)
From 31 October, the Risborough Road A4010 won't connect vehicular traffic with the centre of Stoke Mandeville.
Between 31 October and 5 November, final works will be taking place by HS2 Ltd on the newly constructed Stoke Mandeville Relief Road. This means there will be a road closure on the A4010 requiring vehicles travelling northbound towards Stoke Mandeville to follow a diversion from the Terrick junction via Nash Lee Road (B4009) and Wendover Road (A413) to enter Stoke Mandeville from Station Road (A4010).

SEALR, A4010
From 5 November, road users will be able to travel on the new stretch of A4010 (the combined SEALR Phase 2 dual carriageway and roundabouts with HS2 Ltd’s Stoke Mandeville Relief Road) which connects Risborough Road (A4010) to Lower Road (B4443) north of Stoke Mandeville.
Some bus routes will also be amended to use the new route.

South of Stoke Mandeville (new road off of A4010)
From 19 November, the old A4010 Risborough Road will be permanently closed north of the new A4010 and south of Stoke Mandeville.
A short road which will branch off of the new A4010 will open, giving access to popular businesses south of Stoke Mandeville.

There are different work schedules in October and November.
From 20 October to 24 October, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, two-way signals will be used on Ellen Road, Aylesbury so that Buckinghamshire Highways can implement signal improvements.
From 25 October to 30 October, the works will continue but the road will be closed all day (24 hours).
From 31 October to 2 November, there will be a 24 hour lane closure and 3-way lights.
After this work has been completed, the road will be closed overnight from 3 November between 8pm and 6am for around 2 weeks to allow for plane and patch works to take place, until 15 November.

From 20 October to 25 October, a road closure will be in place overnight between 8pm and 6am along Paradise Orchard (between the Bicester Road, A41 junction and the Paradise Orchard roundabout). This is for plane and patch surfacing works.

View the Paradise Orchard roadworks on One.Network.
In addition to this, multi-way signals will be in place on Bicester Road, A41 between Paradise Orchard and Lucas Furniture Store, also for plane and patch surfacing works.

The multi-way signals between Esso Garage (near the Junction with Walton Dene) to Spenser Road on Wendover Road, Aylesbury (A413) will continue to be in place to support excavation works for Triconnex/ESP Electricity Ltd.
Traffic signals will be manually controlled from 7am to 7pm to help traffic flow.

View the Wendover Road roadworks on One.Network.
There will also be works at the weekend on Milton Road (25 October and 26 October) with multi-way signals from 8pm to 6am.
We recognise that works on Wendover Rd (A413) and adjacent roads will impact travel times for road users following the official Lower Road diversion, as detailed above.
New Road, Weston Turville (between the golf club and Weston Turville) is currently closed. This will continue until 15 November for works related to the Hampden Fields development.

There are two-way signals on Aylesbury Road, Wing for essential gas main and connection works by SGN. These will continue over half term.
The signals will be manually controlled between 7am to 7pm to help traffic flow.
