Bus travel offers and discounts

There are several schemes we are currently operating that give discounts or rewards on bus travel.

Single bus fare cap

Until 31 March 2027, a single bus journey will cost no more than £3 on most routes across Buckinghamshire.

The Department for Transport (DfT) have launched a nationwide £3 fare cap scheme to support families with the cost of living.

The operators taking part in Buckinghamshire are:

  • Arriva
  • Carousel Buses (including the Wycombe Pick Me Up service)
  • First
  • Langston & Tasker
  • Red Eagle Buses
  • Redline Buses
  • Red Rose Travel
  • Stagecoach
  • Thames Valley Buses

Early travel scheme

Holders of the Buckinghamshire Older Person and Disabled Bus Passes will be able to travel before 9am (Monday to Friday) for a reduced single fare of £1 on all journeys starting in Buckinghamshire. This excludes Carousel Buses' 102 journeys beyond Uxbridge (to Heathrow Airport).

Holders of a pass for a visual impairment can continue to travel free of charge at any time.

View our bus pass pages to apply for a pass or renew an expired pass.

Better Points bus user rewards

Passengers in Buckinghamshire can be rewarded for their bus travel using the Better Points app.

Points can be used as a digital currency that can be spent at participating local businesses, redeemed for high street vouchers or donated to charity.

Visit the Better Points website for more information.
