Whitehill Park play area transformed with £150k improvement programme

Whitehill Park’s play area in Aylesbury has been completely revamped as part of Buckinghamshire Council’s play area improvement programme.

The brand-new facility, funded through £150,000 of developer contributions, now offers a wide range of exciting and inclusive equipment designed to support physical, social and sensory play for children of all ages and abilities.

Families visiting the park can now enjoy a large multi‑play unit providing a real ‘wow factor’, along with a popular ‘trackway’ glider. Younger children have their own café‑themed toddler multi‑play unit, and the site includes new accessible features such as an inclusive swing seat, basket swing and a series of learning panels, including a communication panel to encourage interaction between children with different needs.

As part of the improvement works, a small outdoor gym and new seating have also been installed to enhance the experience for all park users.

Peter Brazier, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture & Leisure, said:

“We’re committed to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where children can play, learn and thrive. The new play area at Whitehill Park is a fantastic example of how developer contributions can directly benefit the community. These improvements provide exciting new opportunities for play while making sure the park is accessible to everyone – and I know local families will enjoy the space for many years to come.”
