Unlock your potential with free literacy workshops
Do you want to improve your literacy skills to better manage everyday tasks, control your personal finances, move into employment or get a promotion, or support your children’s learning?
If the answer is yes, Buckinghamshire Adult Learning could have the answer. They are offering free courses specifically for adults to help with everyday essential skills: Literacy (including English language), Digital and Numeracy.
Starting from Monday 17 July and running every week to the end of August, Buckinghamshire Adult Learning has drop-in workshops at:
- 10am to midday every Monday at Millbrook ALC, Mill End Road, High Wycombe, HP12 4BA
- 10am to midday every Wednesday at Quarrendon ALC, Holman Street, Aylesbury, HP19 9LJ
- 10am to midday every Thursday at Chesham ALC, Chartridge Lane, Chesham, HP5 2RG
Anita Cranmer, Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services, said:
“Following the success of delivering the Multiply x Skills for Life campaign in the county, Buckinghamshire Adult Learning is now offering further workshops and courses over the summer covering the three themes of Essential Skills: Literacy, Digital and Numeracy to help improve opportunities for people in the county.
“I would urge anyone who feels lacking in confidence when it comes to literacy to take this opportunity and help improve their life with these free workshops.
“These workshops are part of our new ‘Opportunity Bucks’ programme, which aims to improve outcomes for people in Buckinghamshire. Gaining new skills and qualifications can open up a range of opportunities for people, from new jobs to greater confidence in everyday life.”
The drop-in workshops are free to adults over the age of 19 who do not already have a GCSE at grade C or equivalent in English. For more information on the drop-in sessions – and other part-time courses available in the county – go to www.adultlearningbc.ac.uk
