New Vice Lord-Lieutenant appointed in the county of Buckinghamshire
Sir Francis J S Habgood, QPM DL was appointed to the role of Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire on Friday 1 December 2023.
Sir Francis was appointed Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police in 2015 retiring in 2019 after over 32 years in policing. He was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in 2012 and was knighted for his services to policing in 2020. He was made Deputy Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire in 2020.
Following the announcement, Sir Francis said: “I’m honoured to have been appointed as the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire and I look forward to supporting Lady Howe and the wider Lieutenancy team.”
Speaking about the appointment, Lady Howe said that she looked forward to working with Sir Francis and warmly welcomed him to the role.
Sir Francis succeeds Mr Alexander Boswell who retired from the role on 30th November 2023 a position he has held for 12 years and fulfilled with exceptional dedication and commitment.
Lady Howe said “I should like to express my deep gratitude to Alexander for his exemplary and unstinting support. Fortunately for me, he will continue as a Deputy Lieutenant of the County, and I look forward to working with him further over the coming years.”
