Borrowing charges

You can borrow books for 3 weeks and magazines for 1 week for free. You can borrow items from the eLibrary for free (loan periods vary).

Audiobooks

You can borrow audiobooks, including tape or CD sets, for 3 weeks.

You can have loan receipts sent to you by email. Ask library staff to arrange this for you.

Reservations

Vocal scores and orchestral sets from Buckinghamshire libraries (up to 40 copies per set for up to 4 months) - £20

Overdue items

Books 25p per day (£5.25 maximum charge)
Children’s books 5p per day (£1.05 maximum charge)
Reading Group sets £1 per day (£21 maximum charge)
DVDs 50p per day (£10.50 maximum charge)
Vocal scores £1 per day (£21 maximum charge)
Other items 25p per day (£5.25 maximum charge)

If you lose or damage an item you should contact us. We ask that you pay the cost of replacing it.

Photocopying and printing

A4 black and white printing 20p per side

Scanning

The first page scanned costs £1. Additional pages (A3, A4 and A5) are 25p per page.

Reading groups subscription

An annual reading group subscription costs £25.

Concessions

Concessions apply to Buckinghamshire libraries stock only.

You do not have to pay charges for reservations or postal notifications if you are:

  • under 18
  • over 65
  • unable to read as a result of physical, sensory or learning disability
  • a Home Library Service customer
  • a Library Buddy customer
  • borrowing one of our reading group sets
  • an assisted adult aged 65 years or over

You do not have to pay charges for borrowing items or for overdue items if you are:

  • unable to read as a result of physical, sensory or learning disability
  • a Home Library Service customer
  • a Library Buddy customer
  • borrowing one of our reading group sets

You do not have to pay charges for overdue items if you are:

  • an assisted adult aged 65 years or over

You can borrow items for an extended loan period if you are:

  • a Library Buddy customer
  • a Home Library Service customer

You can borrow children's books for an extended loan period if you're a registered childminder or playgroup leader.
