Buckinghamshire Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2035
Foreword
Helping people live healthier and more independent lives.
The previous Buckinghamshire Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy: Healthier, Happier Lives made improvements throughout the population including:
- enhanced action on health inequalities and linked through Opportunity Bucks Programme as a key Thematic focus
- a cardiovascular disease inequalities programme including Pump it up! Campaign Health Kiosks and Pressure Partners
- mental health inequalities projects through public health activities and mental health services
- new healthy ageing and physical activity strategies driving partnership action
- greater focus on communities – for example 'Health on the High Street' and Communities of Practice
This refreshed new strategy builds on our strong history of working together in partnership across Buckinghamshire to improve the health and wellbeing of our people and community. It recognises the value of prevention, of supporting better mental and physical health and wellbeing and the need to work together to give children the best start in life.
It draws on data, evidence and community insights about Buckinghamshire and has a focus on tackling health inequalities, including addressing the wider determinants of health – such as housing, the economy, employment and the environment.
This strategy sets the direction for all our activities but acknowledges that we need to collaborate to achieve this and that our communities need to be at the heart of this collaboration.
It is ambitious and sets a challenging agenda for the next ten years, but this is something we need to deliver to improve the health and wellbeing of Buckinghamshire residents.
