Applications dealt with by the Environment Agency

Part A1 industrial processes

The Environment Agency (EA) regulates the larger scale, complex and more polluting industries.

These are activities listed under Part A (1) of Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the 2016 Environmental Permitting Regulations.

Within Buckinghamshire, there are currently 5 such A1 processes and are listed as follows:

  • waste composting at High Heavens waste treatment facility
  • metal recycling at High Heavens waste treatment facility
  • landfill at Little Marlow Landfill
  • landfill at Wapseys Wood Gerrards Cross
  • landfill at Springfield Farm Beaconsfield

Applications dealt with by Buckinghamshire Council

Part A2 industrial processes

We currently regulate medium risk industrial processes.

Part A2 processes include:

  • biomass
  • glass-making
  • galvanising
  • rendering
  • animal carcass incineration
  • ceramics

We currently have the following permitted Part A2 processes in Buckinghamshire:

  • HG Mathews Bellingdon Brickworks, Chesham
  • Bucks Recycling Limited, Westcott
